Terms of Service
Effective July 1, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Safety Hank (“Safety Hank”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Safety Hank is
Safety Hank helps construction supervisors and crews create jobsite safety documents (toolbox talks, hazard assessments, inspections, PPE checks, and similar) by text message and on the web, and store certificates and related records.
2. Safety disclaimer — read this
Safety Hank produces field-aid documents intended for review, completion, and sign-off by a competent person (a qualified supervisor). It is not a safety consultant, engineer, or a substitute for professional judgment, site-specific assessment, or legal advice.
- You are responsible for reviewing every document and verifying it against actual site conditions and the applicable Occupational Health & Safety legislation and code.
- Safety Hank does not produce documents that require a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) stamp or a designated officer’s certification, and must not be relied on for them.
- Fall-clearance and similar figures are provided as blank worksheets for a competent person to calculate — Safety Hank does not calculate them for you.
You assume full responsibility for how the documents are used on your worksite.
3. Accounts & eligibility
You must be 18+ and authorized to act for your company. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Your phone number is used to identify you for SMS and must be a number you control.
4. Acceptable use
- Use the service only for lawful, legitimate workplace safety purposes.
- Don’t abuse, reverse-engineer, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Don’t submit unlawful content or content you don’t have the right to provide.
5. Subscriptions, trials & billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor. Prices are shown in CAD unless stated otherwise.
- Free trials convert to a paid plan unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Plan usage limits apply as described on the billing page.
6. Messaging
SMS use is also subject to our Privacy Policy. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the information you provide. You grant us the limited right to process it to operate the service and generate your documents.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that generated documents are error-free or sufficient for your specific situation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Safety Hank and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any workplace incident, injury, fine, or loss arising from your use of the service or the documents it generates. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the service.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. We’ll update the effective date above.
